These guys use freshly cut vines (above) whereas the AJ Hackett imitation involves modern stretchy cord and litigation-proof systems. The main safety feature we saw was the softening of the steep ground where they ‘land’, plus the restriction of the season to coincide with the fresh growth of the vines.
